The 8th Conference of the Myanmar Society of Haematology was held at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Yangon, from 28th February to 1st March 2026.
The opening ceremony was took place from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on 28th February 2026. It was attended by Directors-General and senior officials from the Ministry of Health; the Presidents and Patrons of the Myanmar Medical Council (MMC), Myanmar Academy of Medical Science (MAMS), and Myanmar Medical Association (MMA); Rectors, Medical Superintendents, and Professors from medical and related universities in Yangon; distinguished international speakers and guests; members of the Myanmar Society of Haematology; postgraduate students in haematology, paediatric haematology, pathology, and internal medicine; as well as nurses and other interested doctors.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the attendees paid respect to the National Flag while the National Anthem was played.
The Director-General of the Department of Human Resources for Health, Professor Dr. Tin Tun, delivered the opening speech.
This was followed by a welcome and vote of thanks delivered by the President of the Myanmar Society of Haematology, Professor Dr. Aye Aye Gyi.
The opening ceremony continued with a ribbon-cutting to mark the official commencement of the conference. The ribbon was cut by the Director-General of the Department of Human Resources for Health, Professor Dr. Tin Tun; the Director-General of the Department of Medical Research, Professor Dr. Aye Aye Khin; the Patron of the Myanmar Society of Haematology, Professor Dr. Rai Mra; and the President of the Myanmar Society of Haematology, Professor Dr. Aye Aye Gyi.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a group photograph was taken.
After the opening ceremony, the Directors-General and conference participants toured the poster exhibition.
